Curriculum

The City of Knowledge Islamic School is focused on combining excellent education with Islamic teachings in a unique learning and interacting environment.

Under the supervision of an education committee led by experienced teachers in the state of Georgia as well as professors from Emory University and Georgia Tech, all resources are used to make sure that The City of Knowledge provides an education level at a comparable, or even higher, level than the best private schools in the state of Georgia.

The education curriculum is comparable to those of the best private schools in Georgia. The Islamic and cultural education will be supervised by local Islamic educators who have more than 15 years of experience.

Common Core State Standards

The Common Core State Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them.

The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers.

With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy.

Georgia Department of Education

The performance standards provide clear expectations for instruction, assessment, and student work.

They define the level of work that demonstrates achievement of the standards, enabling a teacher to know “how good is good enough.”

The performance standards isolate and identify the skills needed to use the knowledge and skills to problem-solve, reason, communicate, and make connections with other information.

They also tell the teacher how to assess the extent to which the student knows the material or can manipulate and apply the information.
